Meet Des - Master Stylist

Des is an experienced stylist who has been immersed in the hair industry for nearly a decade. With hairstyling running in her blood and having grown up in her mom’s hair salon, she was able to learn the ins and outs of the business from an early age. Inspired by her mom’s success, she followed in her footsteps and began her own journey which included graduating from one of Ontario’s top hair schools - The Aveda Institute, where she honed her skills and discovered more about her love and passion for the industry. After some time of working in the fast-paced city scene, Des felt a pull to return to her roots. She craved a more personal experience and wanted to live and work in a community where she could truly connect with her clients. For her, there’s nothing better than that small-town vibe.

Now Des is thrilled to be a part of the creative haven that Studio Thirty Eight is—where she can continue to service  clients and welcome new faces Into her chair. Known for her colour expertise, she specializes in blondes and loves playing with a variety of balayage and colour techniques involving the latest hair trends. She is constantly honing her craft, always staying inspired and up-to-date through ongoing education and social media.

For Des, hairstyling is more than just a job—it’s a true passion. Helping clients feel confident and bringing their hair goals to life is what drives her every day. When she walks into the salon, it doesn’t feel like work—it feels like a second home.
